If you are landing at Incheon in the evening and taking a KTX the next morning, staying near Seoul Station can remove a lot of unnecessary suitcase work. For a longer first trip, though, the hotel closest to the trains is not automatically the best base. City Hall and Namdaemun may give you a better balance of sightseeing, food, and station access.
The four hotels below solve different versions of that problem. Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station is the clearest choice for a weather-protected station connection. Hotel Manu Seoul Station balances the station with Namdaemun. Hotel Gracery Seoul works better as a central sightseeing base, while ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun has the most useful documented layouts for three or four people.
Is this a transfer night or your Seoul base?
| Stay pattern | Start with | Main test |
|---|---|---|
| Late AREX followed by early KTX, or a final rail night | Four Points | Whether the 8–15 minute underground route is usable at the required hour |
| One rail journey plus Namdaemun access | Hotel Manu | Whether its station/Namdaemun balance matters more than a verified shortest luggage route |
| Multi-night central sightseeing base | Hotel Gracery | Whether City Hall convenience is worth a longer Seoul Station transfer |
| Three or four travelers needing documented room space | ENA Suite | Whether a City Hall base plus one short arrival transfer beats a smaller station-side room |
Seoul Station is at its best when your itinerary has a transport problem to solve. It works particularly well for:

- a late AREX arrival followed by an early KTX;
- a final Seoul night after returning from Busan or another city;
- a short business stop with an onward train;
- a split stay where you leave most luggage in Seoul while traveling elsewhere.
It is less compelling when you are spending four or five days only sightseeing in Seoul. You may use the airport train twice and the KTX not at all, but you will return to the hotel every evening. In that case, Myeongdong or City Hall can offer a more useful mix of subway routes, restaurants, and walkable sights.
This is why the shortlist includes Gracery and ENA even though neither is the fastest walk from a platform. They represent the point where “near Seoul Station” becomes “close enough for the train, better for the rest of the trip.” If you have not yet settled on a neighborhood, compare Myeongdong, Hongdae, and Gangnam before choosing the hotel.
That last point matters. “Near Seoul Station” can mean an underground corridor, an elevated outdoor walkway, or a 14-minute street walk. It does not always mean rolling your suitcase straight from the platform into the lobby.
Platform-to-lobby burden, not map distance
The most useful comparison is not the number of metres between two pins. It is the number of decisions you must make while moving a suitcase through the station.

Start with the train you will actually use. AREX, KTX, GTX-A, and Seoul Subway Lines 1 and 4 do not all place you at the same point inside the complex. Then check the corridor, elevator, escalator, street exit, crossings, slope, and weather exposure between that point and the lobby.
Four Points wins the bad-weather comparison because the published route uses an underground connection. It does not win on absolute walking time. Hotel Manu can work well via the elevated Seoullo route, but that approach is outdoors and easier after you have saved it. Gracery and ENA are better treated as City Hall or Namdaemun hotels; a short taxi may be the sensible first-arrival choice with heavy bags.
No hotel page can guarantee that every elevator or door will be available at every hour. If you use a wheelchair, cannot manage stairs, or are catching the first train of the day, confirm the current route with the hotel and check it in Naver Map before travel.
Compare the Seoul Station hotel shortlist
| Hotel | Best for | Station reality | Useful room signal | Main caution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station | Early KTX, AREX, bad weather, one-night transit stay | Underground connection from Exit 12, but the hotel gives an 8–15 minute walk | Double, twin, and larger corner categories appear; confirm occupancy | “Connected” still means a substantial walk inside the station complex |
| Hotel Manu Seoul Station | Couples or friends balancing trains with Namdaemun | Close to the station area; the Seoullo 7017 approach is useful but not obvious on a first arrival | Double, twin, triple, and family-twin categories are listed | Some rooms are compact, and the elevated route is exposed outdoors |
| Hotel Gracery Seoul | A longer first-time sightseeing stay | Better treated as a City Hall–Namdaemun hotel; about 10–15 minutes from Seoul Station | 22–24㎡ double and twin rooms, plus a 24㎡ three-single-bed room | It is not the right choice for the shortest possible platform walk |
| ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun | Three or four people wanting more documented room space | About 14 minutes from Seoul Station and much closer to City Hall Station | 36㎡ family-twin and triple rooms; 47㎡ family studio | Use City Hall or a short taxi if the full luggage walk is too much |
The shortlist began with Seoul Station-area properties showing both a solid Trip.com score and a meaningful number of reviews. At the time of checking, Four Points showed 9.0/10 from 1,073 reviews, Hotel Manu 8.7 from 925, Hotel Gracery 9.1 from 1,681, and ENA Suite 9.3 from 618. Those numbers helped identify established candidates. They did not determine the order, and no undated price or commission estimate was used as a recommendation reason.
Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Station: best for the train-first stay
Four Points is the easiest answer when the train is the reason you are staying here. Marriott describes an underground connection from Seoul Station Exit 12 and gives an 8-to-15-minute walk. That route links the hotel with AREX, KTX, GTX-A, and Subway Lines 1 and 4 without requiring a fully outdoor walk.
The catch is in the time estimate. An underground connection sounds as if the lobby sits above the platform, but it does not. You still need to cross a large station complex and follow the right signs. With a suitcase, allow more time than the map distance suggests. Very early departures also deserve a direct check with the hotel because the opening hours of individual doors and corridors can matter.
Rooms have work desks, Wi-Fi, and mini-refrigerators, and current listings show double and twin choices. Check the accepted occupancy instead of assuming a twin room fits an extra guest. Check-in is listed from 15:00 and checkout by 12:00, but breakfast inclusion, luggage storage, deposits, and cancellation terms depend on the booking conditions you select.
For a one-night stop between Incheon Airport and a KTX, the long indoor walk is usually a better trade than moving to another neighborhood and returning to Seoul Station in the morning.
Hotel Manu Seoul Station: best balance of trains and Namdaemun
Hotel Manu makes more sense when you want station access without spending the whole stay in a transport-first setting. Its official site places the hotel between Seoul Station, Namdaemun Market, and Myeongdong. That gives you somewhere easy to walk for food and sightseeing after checking in.
Hotel Manu’s official site positions it between Seoul Station, Namdaemun, and Myeongdong, but it does not publish a complete platform-to-lobby luggage route. Treat Manu as a location balance, not as the verified easiest suitcase route from a particular platform.
The official room page lists an 18㎡ Standard Double, 22㎡ Standard Twin, 28㎡ Family Twin with one double and one single bed, and 26.4㎡ Triple with three single beds. The final booking screen still has to accept the complete party.
Hotel Manu is a good compromise for a couple or two friends taking one KTX journey while still wanting Namdaemun and central Seoul within easy reach.
Hotel Gracery Seoul: best for a longer first-time visit
Hotel Gracery is the one to choose when Seoul Station matters, but not every morning. The official access page lists City Hall Station Exit 7 as a five-minute stairs-only route, with escalator access at Exit 1 and elevators at Exits 2 or 9. It lists Seoul Station Exit 3 as a ten-minute route with elevator and stairs. In practical terms, this is a City Hall and Namdaemun base with workable rail access, not a platform-adjacent hotel.
That distinction is useful on a longer trip. City Hall gives you Lines 1 and 2, while Namdaemun, Deoksugung, and the walk toward Myeongdong sit nearby. You trade the shortest KTX walk for an easier everyday sightseeing base and more food choices in the evening.
The room information is unusually clear. Standard double and twin rooms are 22㎡, deluxe double and twin rooms are 24㎡, and the triple room is 24㎡ with three 90-centimetre beds. The hotel also describes separate bathing and toilet areas. That makes it easier for friends to understand what they are booking, than a vague “family room” label would.
Check-in begins at 15:00 and checkout is by 12:00. The hotel’s FAQ says its self-service luggage storage is free on the day of check-in or checkout until midnight, subject to space; a fee applies after midnight. It also asks guests arriving after midnight to make contact in advance.
Choose Gracery for a normal three-to-five-night Seoul stay that happens to include one rail journey. If you have two large suitcases, use an elevator-equipped route or a short taxi from Seoul Station rather than forcing the walk.
ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun: best for three or four travelers
ENA Suite earns its place because the room decision is much clearer for a larger party. The hotel lists a 36㎡ family twin for three with one queen and one super-single bed, a 36㎡ triple with three single beds, and a 47㎡ family studio for four with one king and one double bed. Couples can also choose 33–36㎡ king or twin rooms.
The tradeoff is station distance. ENA’s own location page places it about 950 metres, or 14 minutes on foot, from Seoul Station. City Hall Station is listed at 110 metres. If three or four people are carrying several suitcases, the hotel is better understood as a spacious City Hall option with access to Seoul Station, not as the easiest hotel to reach directly from an AREX platform.
That can still be the right tradeoff. One short taxi at arrival may be less troublesome than squeezing everyone and their luggage into a smaller station-side room for four nights. It is especially sensible when the rest of the itinerary centers on Deoksugung, Myeongdong, Gwanghwamun, or Line 2.
The hotel lists check-in at 15:00 and checkout at 12:00; ask the property directly about current luggage-storage conditions. Confirm how the sofa bed is prepared, whether the full party is accepted in the chosen category, and whether breakfast or pool access is included in the rate.
Match the room to the whole party
For two travelers sharing one bed, all four hotels offer straightforward double or king choices. Two friends should start with a true twin room and then compare floor space. Two separate beds do not guarantee that two open suitcases will fit comfortably.
Three friends have the clearest options at Gracery and ENA. Gracery publishes a 24㎡ triple with three single beds. ENA publishes a 36㎡ triple with three single beds. Hotel Manu also lists a triple category, but the current room photos and floor space should decide whether it works for your luggage.
A couple traveling with one adult or older child can look at Hotel Manu’s family twin or ENA’s family twin. ENA documents one queen and one super-single bed for three. For four travelers, ENA’s 47㎡ family studio has one king and one double bed, but two beds are not automatically comfortable for every group of four. Enter every guest before browsing and make sure the final booking screen accepts the full party.
If privacy matters more than price, two rooms can be the better answer. This is especially true when four adults would otherwise share two beds or one bathroom for several nights.
What happens to the luggage before the train?
Do not let the hotel name do the planning for you. Put the airport landing time, expected station arrival, hotel check-in, breakfast, KTX departure, and luggage retrieval time on one line.
Check-in, checkout, early-bag drop, and overnight-storage rules must be confirmed for the selected booking. A published checkout time does not promise early room access or unlimited storage.
Hotel Gracery publishes the clearest storage rule: same-day self-storage before check-in and after checkout is free until midnight, subject to space, with a fee after midnight. This review did not secure equivalent first-party rules for Four Points, Hotel Manu, or ENA, so ask those properties directly rather than assuming the same service.
If the hotel cannot hold your bags, the Seoul Metropolitan Government lists a staffed T-Luggage location at Seoul Station B1 near Exit 1. Its published offline hours are 09:00–22:00. Station lockers are another fallback, but both availability and access hours can change. Do not build a tight airport or KTX connection around finding an empty large locker at the last minute. For options beyond the hotel, compare lockers and staffed storage in the full Seoul luggage-storage guide.
Breakfast needs the same treatment. A hotel can serve breakfast without including it in your room rate, and an early KTX may leave before service begins. Compare the actual breakfast-inclusive rate with the room-only rate and the train time.
For the complete airport choice before reaching the hotel, use the Incheon Airport to Seoul transport comparison.
Complete one final room and route check
The easiest way to avoid a bad booking is to enter the full party and dates before comparing anything else. Then open the listing for the exact room, not just the general hotel page, and check:
- the number and size of beds;
- maximum accepted occupancy;
- floor space and whether luggage can remain open;
- the route from your actual train platform or station exit;
- check-in, late-arrival, and luggage-storage conditions;
- breakfast inclusion and serving hours;
- deposits, cancellation deadlines, and the final total.
For an early KTX or a one-night rail stop, start with Four Points. Hotel Manu is the more interesting compromise when Namdaemun matters too. Gracery is the stronger everyday base for a longer first trip. ENA is the first place to check when room layout for three or four people matters more than a direct station connection.
